My Chosen Work Sample had lots of excellent revisions done to it. Starting with that draft, I did not add very much substance to that first draft, and the conclusion was very lacking. During our peer review discussions, I received lots of feedback relating to the Functionality of my essay. In other words, this feedback was MLA and simple things like grammar and making things flow better from one thought to another. Even though these are very basic things that relate back to the essay, it is still very important to have good grammar and to have good flow between your paragraphs. This shows that I have the ability to take in thoughtful feedback from my peers. The skill of taking in one’s constructive criticism about your own work and applying it back to your work is very important to have. If you do not have this important skill, then your writing will never get better because you think that you are creating your best work from the get-go. When you take in your peers’ criticism as I did, then your work will become better because your peers are reading your work from the outside. Reading from the outside gives the perspective that you need so that you can understand the piece in other people’s words, because your own words will always sound correct in your head. The ability I have to take in others’ criticism will help me throughout my life in being selfless and realizing that others have good ideas too.
