In my chosen Work Sample, I was able to show my ability to utilize proper MLA formatting and grammar. I was able to accelerate my ability to use MLA formatting by checking every quote throughout my essay and having a checklist of different MLA formatting requirements that I needed to have done by the end of the draft. I found that MLA formatting is not that difficult of a thing to learn throughout the semester. It is more of a thing you either do or do not do. One thing that has helped me remember to put correct quotations in my essay was learning about the Barclays paragraph format. This format helped me be able to put all of my quotes in proper formatting. I found that having a lot of different quotes and sources that I need to quote from my MLA formatting is a lot better. The consciousness of knowing that I have a lot of different quotes and sources helps me remember that I need to properly quote them. Grammar is a part of my writing that I think has improved throughout the year. The use of proper grammar in your work is important because if you do not have proper grammar, your reader will be turned off by your paper, and they will not want to read it since it does not sound good. Grammar is a fundamental thing that I have learned throughout this year to better my ability to implement good flow to my essay.
